Wildberries Depot in Russia Destroyed in Fresh Ukrainian Drone Strike

A major logistics depot belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, was destroyed in a fresh Ukrainian drone attack, marking the second strike on the same facility in just over a month, according to Russian regional authorities.

The warehouse, located in Russia’s Tambov region southeast of Moscow, caught fire after the overnight attack. Tambov Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said the blaze completely destroyed the logistics center and injured two people.

The latest strike follows an earlier attack on the same Wildberries depot on July 18, when seven people were killed. Since then, Ukrainian forces have expanded a broader campaign targeting the retailer’s logistics network across Russia.

Ukrainian officials have linked some of the targeted facilities to Russia’s war effort, saying Wildberries warehouses can handle equipment and technical components used by the Russian military. Wildberries and Russian officials have disputed the characterization of the company’s facilities as military targets.

The attacks are part of Ukraine’s increasingly extensive long-range drone campaign inside Russian territory. Kyiv has sought to strike economic infrastructure, oil facilities and logistics networks in an effort to disrupt Russia’s ability to sustain its war effort and increase pressure far from the front line.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said it intercepted 426 Ukrainian drones across 15 regions and occupied Crimea during the latest overnight wave. Other incidents were reported in Russia’s Lipetsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions.

The repeated attacks on Wildberries have also raised concerns for Russian businesses that store merchandise at the company’s warehouses. Wildberries operates a vast logistics network serving hundreds of thousands of sellers across the country, making disruptions potentially significant for retailers and consumers.

The latest strike underscores how Ukraine’s drone capabilities are allowing Kyiv to reach increasingly deep inside Russia while the wider war continues to intensify.
