Iran launched missile and drone attacks toward Kuwait on Thursday, escalating its confrontation with the United States and its regional allies following U.S. bombardments against Iranian targets earlier in the week.
Sirens sounded across Kuwait as the country’s air defenses moved to intercept the incoming weapons. Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense described the incident as a “blatant Iranian aggression” and said its forces were responding to the attacks.
The strikes came after the United States carried out attacks on Iranian military infrastructure, including rocket launchers on Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz. Washington said the launchers were being prepared for operations involving sea mines in the strategically important waterway.

Iranian authorities said the attack killed four people and wounded dozens more.
The conflict is also creating growing risks for global energy supplies. The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial route for international oil and gas shipments, and continued military activity in and around the waterway has already disrupted commercial shipping and pushed oil prices higher.
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that Washington is prepared to intensify military action if Iran continues retaliating. Tehran, meanwhile, has maintained that it will respond to attacks against its territory and interests.
Diplomatic efforts remain possible, with regional governments calling for negotiations and an end to the escalating violence. However, the continued exchange of missile and drone attacks has raised fears that the conflict could spread further across the Middle East.
