The World’s 50 Best Bars for 2024 have been unveiled, with Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City crowned the top bar globally at an awards ceremony in Madrid on October 22. Located in the trendy Colonia Juarez neighborhood, Handshake Speakeasy has rapidly risen to the top, securing third place last year before clinching the coveted title this year.
In second place is Hong Kong’s Bar Leone, the best bar in Asia, celebrated for its Italian-style “cocktail populari” concept. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Sips, last year’s No. 1, landed in third place, showcasing its enduring appeal and expert craftsmanship in the cocktail world.
Bars from across the globe—spanning Athens, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, and Singapore—made the prestigious list. The awards, judged by 700 industry experts, reflect the diverse and evolving cocktail scene. Hotel-based bars, like Singapore’s Jigger & Pony and London’s Connaught Bar, also featured prominently, offering travelers luxury spots to indulge in world-class drinks.
