Bayern Munich Win 35th Bundesliga Title but Celebrate Without Meisterschale Trophy Again

FC Bayern Munich secured their 35th Bundesliga title after a 4-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart, but the celebrations once again unfolded without the iconic Meisterschale trophy.

Despite sealing the championship on Matchday 30, Bayern players marked the moment with relatively subdued reactions, as the official league trophy had not yet been presented. Instead, the squad turned to a now-famous alternative symbolβ€”a porcelain cockatoo that has become an unexpected club talisman.

The unusual tradition dates back to last season under head coach Vincent Kompany, when the decorative bird first appeared during title celebrations. The ornament, originally taken from a Munich restaurant during a team gathering, quickly became part of the club’s folklore after being embraced by players and later gifted to the team.

Midfielder Leon Goretzka once again lifted the cockatoo in place of the Meisterschale, reinforcing its status as a quirky but meaningful symbol of Bayern’s dominance.

The championship shirts worn by players also nodded to the inside joke, featuring a cockatoo dressed in Bayern’s traditional red and white kit holding a trophyβ€”without any text or numbers, a subtle reference understood by fans familiar with the story.

While the official Bundesliga trophy presentation is expected later in the season, Bayern’s early title win highlights their continued dominance in German football, with the club maintaining its position at the top of the league standings.

For now, the porcelain bird has once again taken center stage in Munich, symbolizing both the team’s success and its unique dressing-room culture.
