The college president has lamented that there is a significant reduction in the number of medical doctors in general practice seeking fellowship and specialisation in a given area in the college.

He further said that the National post graduate medical college of Nigeria had in the past graduated a total of eight thousand four hundred and eight medical specialists but there is a decline in the number of enrollment annually which has dropped to about three hundred and thirty eight.

A worrisome development that negatively affects the number of available medical specialist in the country.

The theme for the 18th annual scientific conference and all fellow’s Congress (ASCAF) is medical, education, research and practice pushing the frontiers amidst brain drain.
