Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to commiserate with the people over the flood that ravaged the city.

The president, who returned to the country last night after trips to UAE, China and UK, arrived at the Air Force Base in Borno, at exactly 3:20pm.

President Bola Tinubu had earlier called for the immediate evacuation of residents in communities overtaken by floods.

Tinubu, who expressed deep concern over the flooding directed the relevant government agencies to expedite rescue efforts.

Borno State in Northeast Nigeria is facing its worst flood in recent decades, with thousands of residents fleeing their homes overtaken by water.
