(VIDEO) Rivers PDP Protest Against LG Election

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state have staged a peaceful protest to the state DSS and the Police headquarters.

The protesters were seen gathered at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Secretariat along Aba road in Port-Harcourt before proceeding to DSS.

The protesters were seen carrying placards with different inscriptions kicking against the October 5 Local Government Elections coming up on Saturday.

Some stakeholders which includes, former LGA chairmen loyal to the FCT minister, members of the Federal House of Representative, former chief of staff Government House and other critical stakeholders.

Speaking at the DSS office, state chairman of PDP in Rivers State, ARON CHUKWUEMEKA said the major reason for the protest is to say no to the October 5 Local Government Elections.

He said they are not going to participate because there’s a court judgement restraining RSIEC from conducting the elections.
