(VIDEO) Police Confirm Bombing of Rivers APP Secretariat

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the explosion at the secretariat of the Action People’s Party (APP) in Port Harcourt, along the GRA axis, on Monday morning.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, a team of bomb experts has been deployed to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blast.
She disclosed that the State Police Commissioner and other top officers have inspected the party office to gather firsthand information.
Iringe-Koko confirmed that the explosion damaged some property.
An investigation into the explosion has also been launched.
This incident comes amid rumours of political tensions in the state, with speculation surrounding Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s alleged plans to defect to the APP with his loyalists.
