President Bola Tinubu says Nigerians should reduce dependence on imported foods.
He said this is a way of ensuring food security.

The Director of Extension, federal Ministry of to Agriculture and Rural Development, Deola Lordbanjou represented the president at the convocation ceremony of Michael Okpara university of Agriculture, Umudike. He says he is confident Nigeria is capable of producing every of its staple foods.

He also said the Universities of Agriculture have a role to play in order to achieve this.
Deputy governor of Abis state, Ikechukwu Emetu and pro chancellor of the university, Fidelis Edeh emphasize the importance of agriculture in the society.
