The Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar tendered resignation to the Nigerian President Bola Tinubu after about seven years on the position.

The NIA DG was appointed by the former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking to journalists after tendering his resignation letter, Abubakar said that the President had accepted his resignation. He described his action as a routine thing.
