Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission has set up the Borno State working group on Business and Human Rights with the aim of promoting responsible business practices that respects and uphold human rights.

Dr Tony Ojukwu, the Executive Secretary of NHRC said Civil Society Organizations, government officials, security operatives and development partners are part of the working group; They are to chart a way forward on how best to promote responsible business practices that respects and uphold human rights in the state.

The state government for its part appreciated the initiative by the National Human Rights Commission which it believes would go a long way in addressing issues of human right violation.
