Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has described the governorship election won by the APC’s candidate Monday Okpebholo as a tragedy and travesty of democracy.
Obaseki in a statewide broadcast said various political parties had embarked on rigorous campaigns to sell their candidates to Edo State people for governorship, in an exercise which came to a climax on Saturday.
Obaseki urged residents of Edo to be calm and shun the tendency to resort to violence and destruction of properties despite the provocation.
