Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, says the struggle for control of state resources is the main cause of the ongoing political crisis in the state.
Fubara spoke to the congregation at the 18th anniversary celebration of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) and Chibuzor Chinyere’s 51st birthday.
The event was held at the church’s headquarters in Mbodo, Aluu, near Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Sunday.
Fubara and Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), have been at loggerheads over control of the political structure of the state.
The feud between the two has sparked a political crisis in the state, led to conflicting court orders, and polarisation of the Rivers house of assembly.
In December 2023, Fubara and Wike signed an eight-point resolution deal to end the feud.
Fubara assured Rivers people that he will continue to utilize the state resources judiciously for the betterment and overall interest of the people.
The Governor, however, sued for continuous prayers from the church in order for his administration to remain focused with a view to achieving the purpose of governance
