A Federal Aviation Administration employee in New Hampshire has been charged with making threats against U.S. President Donald Trump, according to federal authorities.

Dean DelleChiaie, 35, a mechanical engineer based in Nashua, was arrested and charged with interstate communication of a threat after allegedly sending a threatening email to the White House on April 21. Prosecutors say the message explicitly stated his intent to harm the president.

Investigators revealed that DelleChiaie had previously come to the attention of the U.S. Secret Service in January after the Federal Aviation Administration flagged concerning internet searches conducted on his work computer. Court documents indicate those searches included queries about weapons, federal security vulnerabilities, and statements referencing harm against Trump.

According to the complaint, DelleChiaie also searched for personal details related to JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, including information about their residences and families. Authorities say he later requested that his browsing history be deleted, prompting further internal scrutiny and eventual referral to federal investigators.

Law enforcement officials interviewed DelleChiaie in February, during which he allegedly admitted to conducting the searches and acknowledged owning firearms. He also reportedly expressed remorse but cited personal frustrations and mental health struggles.

Following the investigation, a federal judge, Andrea K. Johnstone, ordered that DelleChiaie be held without bail pending trial. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The case comes amid heightened security concerns, following a recent attempted attack involving the president. Authorities continue to stress the seriousness of threats against public officials as investigations into related incidents remain ongoing.
