NIGERIA : Soludo Congratulates Adeleke on Re-election, Says Victory Reflects People’s Trust

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, saying the outcome reflects the confidence and trust voters have placed in his leadership.

Adeleke was declared winner of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), securing 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

In a goodwill message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo described Adeleke’s victory as an indication that the people of Osun had renewed their confidence in his ability to lead the state for another four years.

The Anambra governor also commended Osun voters for participating in the election and exercising their democratic rights. He said their participation demonstrated the ability of citizens to influence the future of their state through the electoral process.

Soludo urged Adeleke and other political actors in Osun State to put political differences aside and focus on peace, unity and development. He called on the governor to use his renewed mandate to pursue policies that would deliver lasting benefits to residents.

The congratulatory message comes as reactions continue to follow Adeleke’s re-election, with political leaders and groups urging the governor to use his second term to consolidate his administration’s development agenda.

The election saw Adeleke win in 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11.

Soludo wished Adeleke a successful second term, emphasizing the importance of wisdom, courage and inclusive governance as the governor begins his renewed mandate.
