Immanuel Quickley Ruled Out Again as Raptors Trail Cavaliers 2-0 in NBA Playoff Series

Immanuel Quickley will miss his third consecutive game for the Toronto Raptors as they attempt to recover from a 2-0 deficit against the Cleveland Cavaliers in their first-round playoff series.

The Raptors’ starting point guard remains sidelined with a strained right hamstring and was unavailable for Game 3 on Thursday. Head coach Darko Rajakovic said Quickley has yet to meet the recovery benchmarks required to return to action.

Quickley was a key contributor during the regular season, averaging 16.4 points and a team-leading 5.9 assists across 70 games, making his absence a significant blow to Toronto’s playoff hopes.

In his place, second-year guard Jamal Shead is expected to start again after stepping in for the first two games of the series. Shead has averaged 10 points, three assists, and a steal per game so far in the matchup.

With the Raptors searching for momentum, Rajakovic has hinted at possible lineup adjustments. Rookie Collin Murray-Boyles could see an expanded role after an impressive start to his playoff career, while Ja’Kobe Walter is another option at point guard.

Meanwhile, center Jakob Poeltl has struggled to make an impact in the series, averaging modest numbers and sitting out the second half of Toronto’s Game 2 loss in Cleveland.

As the series continues, the Raptors face mounting pressure to adjust without one of their top playmakers, while the Cavaliers look to capitalize on their early advantage and push closer to advancing.
