Solomon confirmed the high-level talks will take place Tuesday, emphasizing that his priority is safeguarding Canadian data, infrastructure, and institutions. He noted that the government is working closely with national cybersecurity officials to assess potential risks linked to the system.
Anthropic has stated it will not release Mythos publicly, but the model has already raised alarm after reportedly uncovering thousands of previously unknown vulnerabilities across major operating systems and web browsers. In the United States, top officials have reportedly convened meetings with major Wall Street banks to evaluate the cyber risks associated with the technology. The issue has reached Canada’s central banking system as well. The Bank of Canada confirmed that Mythos was a key topic during a recent meeting of its financial sector resiliency group, underscoring the seriousness of the threat.
