The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Ifeanyi Ubah, has died at the age of 48.
The lawmaker reportedly flew to the United Kingdom when he seriously took ill a few weeks ago.Â
Swifte Radio News gathered that Senator Uba died on Saturday morning but could not ascertain whether his death occurred in a hospital or in a hotel in London as there were conflicting reports on where he died.
His condition reportedly grew worse in the past 48 hours.
The cause of death could not be established as of Saturday morning.
Ubah was elected Senator in 2019 on the platform of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, and re-elected on the same platform in 2023.
He crossed over to the All Progressives Congress, APC, few months ago and has indicated interest in seeking the governorship of Anambra State in next year’s election.
There are reports that he made a monetary donation to the APC in Anambra State two days ago.
Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and came fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
