U.S. President Donald Trump used his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday to defend the U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran, arguing that the action was necessary to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon and threatening other countries.
Speaking before world leaders in New York, Trump said the United States had significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities and insisted that Washington remained prepared to pursue negotiations. He warned, however, that the conflict could escalate further if no agreement is reached.

He also defended his administration’s actions in Venezuela, discussed U.S. plans for a greater security presence in Greenland and criticized the International Criminal Court. His comments reflected a broader foreign-policy approach centered on U.S. military and economic power.
Iran’s delegation reportedly walked out during Trump’s criticisms of the country, underscoring the deep diplomatic divisions surrounding the conflict.
The address came as international leaders continue to face pressure over the wars in Iran and Ukraine, rising energy costs and broader geopolitical tensions.
Trump’s remarks at the UN therefore served both as a defense of his administration’s military actions and as a warning that the United States could pursue further escalation if diplomatic efforts with Iran fail.
