Winnipeg’s Louise Bridge to Undergo Repairs: Temporary Closure Scheduled for Friday

The City of Winnipeg has announced that the Louise Bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic on Friday, March 28, 2025, to facilitate essential bridge bearing repairs. The closure will occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., strategically planned to avoid peak commuting hours.

Pedestrian Access Maintained

While vehicles will be restricted during the repair period, pedestrian access will remain available via the west sidewalk of the bridge.

Alternative Routes Recommended

Motorists are advised to utilize the Provencher Bridge or the Disraeli Bridges as alternative routes across the Red River during the temporary closure.

Stay Updated

For real-time traffic updates, commuters can download the Waze app. Additionally, public transit users should follow @TransitAlerts on X (formerly Twitter) for information on any route adjustments during the bridge’s closure.
