Winnipeg Man Charged in Fatal St. Boniface Crash Involving Suspended License

A Winnipeg man faces charges of careless driving causing death and operating a vehicle with a suspended or disqualified license in connection to a fatal crash last year, police report.

Authorities arrested the 29-year-old suspect on Friday in relation to the death of a driver in his 40s, according to a Monday news release.

Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at Lagimodiere Boulevard and Cottonwood Road in the St. Boniface area around 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2024.

The driver in his 40s succumbed to his injuries in hospital, while a man in his 20s was treated for minor injuries and remained in stable condition.

The 29-year-old suspect has been released with a promise to appear in court.
