Psaila, who became a Jets fan after visiting Winnipeg four years ago, adapted Melbourne’s football fan song to cheer on the team. “A fighting fury, we’re from Winnipeg,” Psaila sang, passionately supporting the Jets.
For many Winnipeggers, this playoff run marks the most excited they’ve seen the team’s fanbase in years. After a franchise-record 116-point regular season and the first Presidents’ Trophy for top regular-season record, the Jets are poised for a strong playoff push. Fans like Brad Yakiwchuck, who has followed the team since its return to Winnipeg, and Jeff Baquiran, who believes the team is clicking on all cylinders, are optimistic for the Jets’ chances to clinch the Stanley Cup this year.
Mike McDonald, who has attended 35 games this season, praised the team’s chemistry and resilience, noting how the players support each other on the ice.
