The federal government of Nigeria says it has distributed 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Speaking in Abuja at the end of the federal executive council (FEC) meeting, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said each state will receive 20 trucks of rice.
The minister added that each truck contains 1,200 bags of 25 kg of rice.
He said President Bola Tinubu has directed Abubakar Kyari, minister of agriculture, to ensure food availability for Nigerians amid the current economic hardship in the country.
