The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service was alerted that a tanker laden with 33,000 liters of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) has overturned by Peace Park in front of Lamata Place via Ojota.
The incident was reported at 14:40 hrs, and the Alausa station responded with assistance from the Ilupeju station, arriving on the scene at 14:58 hrs.
Emergency personnel have blanketed the spillage to prevent secondary incident and the remains of the tanker towed away to safety. The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, and fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
Motorists can now use the routes but are adviced to be patient as traffic backlog is being cleared to ensure situation is effectively managed
