The Defence Headquarters in Nigeria has warned that the proposed nationwide protest is intended to replicate what happened in Kenya.

Director Defence Media Operations DMO, Major General Edward Buba who gave the warning while briefing journalists in Abuja explained that based on intelligence at its disposal, the proposed nationwide protest would be hijacked by some unscrupulous elements.

Buba noted that what is happening in Kenya in terms of the protest is violence.

while citeing potential targets including individuals with basic possessions, places of worship, businesses, and markets, General Buba urged citizens to recognize the unique circumstances surrounding the protest and called for calm, allowing the government to address the situation and restore national prosperity.

Recall that some Nigerians are planning to stage a nationwide protest, slated on August 1 due to economic hardship and bad governance in Nigeria.
