Nigeria Police have vowed to hunt down killers of two personnel killed during an attack in Abuja on Sunday.
The Nigeria Police Force vowed to hunt down the killers of the two police personnel who were allegedly murdered during an unprovoked attack on a police checkpoint by members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria in Wuse district, Abuja, on Sunday
The police also said that the unprovoked killings of police officers in the line of duty are highly outrageous and unacceptable as those who murdered these policemen have murdered peace.
The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun disclosed that no fewer than 97 followers of Islamic Movement of Nigeria, the alleged perpetrators of the crime are already in police net.
Egbetokun equally disclosed that the police had placed measures to ensure that those who killed the cops do not escape the indignation of law.
A statement by Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police condemned, in strong terms, an unprovoked attack by members of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), commonly known as the Shi’ite group, on police personnel in Abuja on August 25, 2024.
