Former Delta State governor Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has unveiled a platform, Otemu Educational Foundation (OEF), to provide education for young Deltans who are unable to access qualitative education.
Ibori made the disclosure identifying education as critical in eradicating poverty.
With the motto, “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow,” the ex-governor expressed hope that the foundation would have the desired impact of changing the lives of its beneficiaries.
He said “It is with great pride and a profound sense of purpose that I introduce the Otemu Educational Foundation (OEF). This initiative was born from a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of education and a commitment to uplift the indigent yet incredibly talented youth of Delta State, Nigeria.
The foundation will offer scholarships and resources to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring that they have access to the opportunities needed to succeed academically. Ibori also revealed that the foundation is in the process of developing a world-class, digitally driven system for pre-selection and candidate profiling. This initiative aims to ensure that the students selected for support demonstrate both academic potential and strong character.
According to the former governor, a dedicated web portal for the foundation will be launched soon, marking the commencement of the application season. The portal will streamline the application process, ensuring transparency and accessibility for eligible students.
