The National Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, Comptroller HK Ejibunu, has called on economic saboteurs to abandon illicit activities and seek legitimate means of survival.
This appeal was made during a press briefing at the Adamawa/Taraba command headquarters, where Comptroller Ejibunu highlighted the successes of the operation.
Operation Whirlwind, since its inception, has been committed to curbing the activities of cartels and smugglers, aiming to significantly reduce their impact in Nigeria.
Comptroller Ejibunu praised the efforts of the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) for their cooperation in the fight against smuggling and economic sabotage.
He urged individuals engaged in legitimate businesses to continue their lawful endeavours, emphasizing that the fight targets illicit oil marketers and economic saboteurs, in line with the Nigeria Customs Service Act of 2023.
He further remarks on the enforcement of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023
on the ongoing efforts and successes of Operation Whirlwind.
