Vancouver will host the 76th FIFA Congress on April 30, 2026, bringing representatives from all 211 FIFA member countries to Canada ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The announcement was made during the 75th FIFA Congress in Asuncion, Paraguay.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino confirmed Vancouver as the host city, highlighting its role as a FIFA World Cup 2026 venue. Traditionally held in the World Cup host country the year of the tournament, this will be the first time Canada hosts the Congress since Montreal in 1976.
The event is a major annual gathering for FIFA, attracting multiple delegates from each country along with confederation officials, media, and stakeholders. Vancouver’s Congress will boost local tourism and is expected to feature a legends game.
The agenda includes selecting hosts for the 2031 and 2035 Women’s World Cups. Canada won the bid over co-hosts the U.S. and Mexico to host the Congress, marking a significant event ahead of the World Cup scheduled June 11 to July 19, 2026.
