{"id":95,"date":"2024-06-29T19:18:46","date_gmt":"2024-06-29T19:18:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swifteradio.com\/update\/?p=95"},"modified":"2024-06-29T19:18:46","modified_gmt":"2024-06-29T19:18:46","slug":"female-suicide-bomber-strikes-in-borno-kill-six-injure-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swifteradio.com\/update\/female-suicide-bomber-strikes-in-borno-kill-six-injure-others\/","title":{"rendered":"Female Suicide Bomber Strikes in Borno, Kill Six, Injure Others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A bomb attack has been reported at a wedding venue at Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza Town in Borno State in the Northeast region of Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At least six persons were killed and many others injured on Saturday in\u00a0 the attack suspected to be carried out by a female suicide bomber, a young lady in her early twenties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the bomber detonated her explosive device in the middle of the gathering, causing chaos and destruction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intelligence sources told Makama that the victims, who were all civilians, were returning from a wedding celebration when the attack occurred near a busy motorpark.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emergency services were reportedly rushed to the scene to rescue those injured and transport them to the hospitals in Gwoza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">edical personnel in the hospital said at least six people were killed while fifteen others were injured in the attack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking with reporters in Maiduguri, the state capital, the Borno State Commissioner of Police (CP), Yusuf Lawal, confirmed the attack saying it was carried out by a female suicide bomber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lawal said he was informed by the Divisional Police Officer in Gwoza, that at least six people were killed, with 15 others evacuated to the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Source: PUNCH Online\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bomb attack has been reported at a wedding venue at Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza Town in Borno State in the Northeast region of Nigeria.
