Police have arrested a man from Arizona who allegedly threatened to kill Donald Trump after a manhunt that unfolded while the former president was visiting the border state.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Police say 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud, of Cochise County, has made death threats against Trump in social media posts over the past two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump was in Cochise County on Thursday to visit the US border with Mexico.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, Trump was hit by a bullet in a failed assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office says Syrvud is also wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He faces several warrants in\u00a0 Wisconsin and Arizona, including DUI and hit and run.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police said he hails from Benson, Arizona, a town about 50 miles southeast of Tucson.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday afternoon that they have arrested the suspect within county limits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“This subject has been taken into custody without incident,” the office posted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump spent Thursday in Cochise County, visiting the US-Mexico border.<\/span><\/p>\n

During his speech, he tried to blame his rival, the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, for allowing illegal immigrants into the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reporters asked him if he knew about the search for the suspect in Cochise County.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0“No, I have not heard that but I am not that surprised and the reason is because I want to do things that are very bad for the bad guys,” Trump said.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is not the first threat to a presidential candidate in this election cycle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this month, a 66-year-old Virginia man was arrested on suspicion of making death threats against Vice President Harris, among other public officials.<\/span><\/p>\n
