In Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, youths who are exercising their fundamental human rights to protest have held a brief rally at the Moshood Abiola stadium in the state capital, the designated rally centre for the state capital<\/p>\n
Armed with various placards, they expressed their anger and frustration over socioeconomic hardship in the country<\/p>\n
But apart from this handful gathering, the situation remained calm, roads seemed deserted, except for some few vehicles, and commercial and business activities were brought to a halt while security operatives were deployed to strategic locations in the state capital to forestall any breakdown of law and order<\/p>\n
These are the fallout of the Nationwide protest against socioeconomic hardship in the country and fear by residents of possible violence by protesters who have vowed to occupy strategic places in the state for the protest<\/p>\n
Banks and other financial institutions remain under lock and key
\nReports from Sagamu, Ijebuode and Ota revealed that the situation is calm
\nThe state commissioner of police Abiodun Alamutu while on assessment of the situation warned officers against unprofessional conduct.
\nHe also asked youths to comport themselves peacefully just as he admonished residents to continue to be law-abiding and go about their businesses without fear of any threat<\/p>\n
