The other strike targeted houses in the al-Tuffah district, the Hamas-run government media office said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Footage captured people carrying away the wounded and searching for survivors in the wreckage as dust filled the streets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to earlier reports, the estimated death toll was put at 42.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Israel&#8217;s campaign to destroy Hamas was launched in response to an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, were killed and about 251 others were taken hostage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The territory&#8217;s Hamas-run health ministry says more than 37,551 people have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">14,680 of the dead have reportedly been identified as children, women and elderly as at the end of April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Source<\/span><b>: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BBC<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At least 38 people have been killed and many more injured as Israeli forces landed two air strikes on buildings in Gaza City, says Hamas.
