A prominent member of the Labour Party (LP) and veteran Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo has revealed that he may return to his former party the APC.<\/span><\/h1>\n

He made the revelation while speaking in an interview on a news platform, saying that he is considering the action as a result of recent happenings in the Labour Party.<\/span><\/h1>\n

One of the reasons he faulted the Labour Party was what he described as their inability to conduct a national convention.<\/span><\/h1>\n

According to him, \u201cAny party that is not visibly committed to the welfare of Nigerians will most likely not see me there. I don’t rule out going back to anything because change is constant,\u201d he said.<\/b><\/h1>\n

\u201cI was a spokesperson at the presidential level and I did not know that the Labour Party was having a convention. When I saw it on social media, I thought it was fake. They were rejected in Umuahia because it was a leprous convention,\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/h1>\n

Okonkwo, a presidential campaign spokesperson for the party in the 2023 election, described the LP as \u201ca secret society led by a group of clowns\u201d.<\/span><\/h1>\n

\u201cThose people are clowns. It is the greatest joke I have ever seen in a political party and then you want to position yourself as a party of integrity. You cannot give what you don\u2019t have,\u201d, he alleged.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The LP has been embroiled in a leadership crisis since Lamidi Apapa, deputy national chairman of the party (south), declared himself the acting national chairman last year.<\/span><\/h1>\n
