The 20-year-old athlete was struck by a golf ball during a pro-am tournament at Catalina Golf Club in New South Wales, a week after realizing his dream of competing on the professional stage.<\/p>\n
In a heartfelt statement on social media, Guan recounted the terrifying moment when he was struck. After hitting a shot, he turned toward his golf cart only to be hit by an errant ball. “The instant ringing and pain rushed to my head, and I dropped to the ground,” he shared. Emergency responders quickly transported him to a hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries to address severe injuries, including fractures to his eye socket. Unfortunately, doctors confirmed that Guan had permanently lost vision in his left eye.<\/p>\n
Guan opened up about the emotional toll of the incident, expressing feelings of despair and anger over his situation. “These four weeks have been the toughest of my life, but I am stronger mentally and will be ready to conquer any obstacle in the future,” he vowed.
