{"id":1823,"date":"2024-10-26T11:46:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-26T11:46:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swifteradio.com\/update\/?p=1823"},"modified":"2026-03-10T17:54:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T17:54:38","slug":"video-driver-dies-as-truck-rams-into-building-at-mende-maryland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swifteradio.com\/update\/video-driver-dies-as-truck-rams-into-building-at-mende-maryland\/","title":{"rendered":"(VIDEO) Driver Dies as Truck Rams Into Building at Mende, Maryland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Truck Rams Into Building at Mende, Maryland\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vG68LofC03Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t Forget to Watch, Like Share and Subscribe to Our Youtube Channel<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency(LASEMA) has confirmed the death of a driver as two trucks collided near the Cane Village, Maryland area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The agency\u2019s Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed this in a statement said the accident was as a result of brake failure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLASEMA in response to distress calls through the 767 and 112 toll-free lines at 12.08hrs, activated the response team from Command and Control Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival at the incident scene, it was discovered that there was an accident involving a concrete mixer truck, registration number DGW 208 XA and another truck, registration number SMK 906 YE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestigation conducted by the response team revealed that one of the trucks suffered brake failure, lost control and crashed into a JUSTRITE truck, whose driver was loading items.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe truck further rammed into the building beside the road and crashed into two people in the process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Oke-Osanyintolu said that the JUSTRITE truck driver died instantly while the two other victims sustained injuries and had been transported to Gbagada General Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe agency\u2019s response team has activated necessary safety measures for the protection of responders at the incident scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, the response team has activated traffic control measures and is currently involved in managing the traffic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Swifteradio.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t Forget to Watch, Like Share and Subscribe to Our Youtube Channel &nbsp; The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency(LASEMA) has confirmed the death of a driver as two trucks collided near the Cane Village, Maryland area of the state.
