According to court documents, the image gave consumers the impression that Dua Lipa endorsed Samsung\u2019s products.<\/p>\n<p>The disputed image, titled \u201cDua Lipa &#8211; Backstage at Austin City Limits, 2024,\u201d is allegedly owned entirely by the singer, with the lawsuit stating she holds all rights and interests connected to the photograph.<\/p>\n<p>Dua Lipa\u2019s legal team claims Samsung benefited commercially from the apparent endorsement by using the image prominently on cardboard TV boxes. Lawyers attached screenshots of social media reactions to the filing, including one comment from a fan who said they would buy the television \u201cjust because Dua is on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to copyright infringement, the lawsuit accuses Samsung of trademark infringement and violating the singer\u2019s publicity rights. The filing argues that the alleged unauthorized use harmed Dua Lipa\u2019s brand identity and commercial reputation by falsely suggesting she approved of or partnered with the company.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit says the \u201cLevitating\u201d singer first became aware of the alleged infringement in June 2025 and demanded that Samsung stop using the image. However, her lawyers claim the company repeatedly refused to comply.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung declined to comment publicly on the case, citing ongoing litigation.
