Arbour most recently led a landmark independent review into sexual misconduct within the Canadian military, producing a comprehensive report with dozens of recommendations aimed at reform. In her remarks, Arbour expressed enthusiasm about stepping into what is largely a ceremonial but symbolically significant position, acknowledging the shift from her previous hands-on roles.
