    Among the distinguished guests were King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who were greeted by cheering crowds as they arrived at the church. The wedding also drew senior royals, including Prince William, Catherine, Princess of Wales, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, Prince Edward, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.

    The couple selected Kemble as their wedding location because Sperling previously lived in the village when they first met. The ceremony took place in the picturesque church at the heart of the rural Gloucestershire community.

    Sperling arrived with three bridesmaids: Phillips’ daughters, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, as well as her own teenage daughter, Georgina. Well-wishers gathered outside the church, applauding and cheering as members of the royal family arrived despite intermittent rain.

    Phillips and Sperling began their relationship in 2024, several years after Phillips’ separation from his first wife, Autumn Kelly, in 2020. Their engagement was announced in August 2025.

    The wedding coincided with the prestigious Epsom Derby, one of the highlights of the British horse racing calendar. Following the ceremony, King Charles and Queen Camilla were expected to travel to the racecourse, where the King was scheduled to present the winner’s trophy.

    Residents and visitors from around the world lined the streets around the church to catch a glimpse of the royal guests. Local preparations included community clean-up efforts, special bell-ringing practice sessions, and road closures to accommodate the event.

    Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, is currently 19th in the line of succession to the British throne. Unlike some of his royal relatives, he does not hold a royal title, making him the first grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II to marry.

    The wedding provided a rare public gathering of senior royals and offered a celebratory occasion for the family amid a busy royal calendar.

    The couple, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States, have two children who did not accompany them on the trip.

    Their visit has drawn mixed reactions across Australia. While many supporters welcomed their presence—particularly during a visit to a children’s hospital in Melbourne—others have questioned the purpose of the trip, especially given reports of public costs related to security.

    In addition to official engagements, Meghan is expected to remain in Sydney after the tour to host a wellness retreat, marking a blend of charitable and commercial activities during their visit.

    The couple travelled to Amman at the invitation of Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization, and were welcomed at the WHO country office before joining a roundtable discussion with representatives from the United Nations, diplomatic missions, and international donors.

    Over the course of their two-day visit, the Sussexes are expected to meet Jordanian leaders and senior health officials while engaging with frontline health and mental health programmes. They will also visit World Central Kitchen teams coordinating food relief for Gaza from Amman and attend initiatives aimed at supporting children medically evacuated from the conflict zone.

    The visit comes during a difficult period for the Royal Family following the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Despite the wider royal crisis, the Sussexes’ trip highlights their continued commitment to global humanitarian causes since stepping down as working royals in 2020.

    The couple will also visit Questscope’s youth centre to hear directly from young people involved in creative and wellbeing programmes. Their charitable organisation, the Archewell Foundation, recently announced donations totalling $500,000 to support children affected by conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine. This includes funding for the World Health Organization to assist with medical evacuations, support for Save the Children’s humanitarian work in Gaza, and a grant to the Centre of Blast Injury Studies to help develop prosthetic limbs for injured children.

    Prince Harry and Meghan have previously partnered with the World Health Organization on vaccine equity campaigns and initiatives to help end violence against children. Their recent international engagements have mirrored the structure of official royal tours, including a visit to Colombia in 2024 focused on digital responsibility and a trip to Nigeria earlier that year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
