    Phillips and Sperling began their relationship in 2024, several years after Phillips’ separation from his first wife, Autumn Kelly, in 2020. Their engagement was announced in August 2025.

    The wedding coincided with the prestigious Epsom Derby, one of the highlights of the British horse racing calendar. Following the ceremony, King Charles and Queen Camilla were expected to travel to the racecourse, where the King was scheduled to present the winner’s trophy.

During the stop, he humorously picked up a roll of toilet paper and remarked that it was “very important,” a comment that later appeared unintentionally fitting after the bird encounter.
