  • Naija Market Day a Grand Success in Winnipeg

    Winnipeg, MB – The much-anticipated Naija Market Day was held successfully at Soul Sanctuary, 2050 Chevrier BLVD, drawing a large crowd of attendees including government officials and celebrities. The event, which ran from 10 am to 3 pm, on Saturday 8th June 2024, celebrated Nigerian culture and commerce, offering a unique shopping experience reminiscent of bustling markets like Alaba, Idumota, and Onitsha.

    The event featured an array of African goods available at wholesale prices, including traditional clothing, food items such as palm wine, suya, rice, beans, yam, ugu, and spices, as well as jewelry, hair accessories, and artwork. Vendors from across Canada showcased their best products, attracting buyers eager to purchase authentic African items.

    Government representatives and local dignitaries praised the initiative for fostering cultural exchange and supporting small businesses. Among the distinguished guests were Uzoma Asagwara, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-term Care of Manitoba, Terry Duguid, Member of the House of Commons of Canada, Obby Khan, MLA for Fort Whyte, who commended the organizers for their efforts in bringing a slice of Nigeria to Winnipeg. Entertainment was a highlight of the day, with DJ Agbara providing lively music that kept the atmosphere vibrant.
