A high-impact networking and funding event aimed at empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners recently took place in Winnipeg, bringing together industry leaders, founders, and aspiring business minds under one roof.

Titled “Cracking the Funding Code,” the sponsored event, organized by Grovane in collaboration with Grovane Academy, was held on April 11 and provided attendees with valuable insights into accessing funding opportunities and scaling businesses effectively.

The event, supported by the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce through its Manitoba Black Entrepreneurs and Small Business Program, attracted a diverse group of participants eager to learn, connect, and grow.

Leading the session was Headliner and Host Ejemen Roluga, Managing Partner at Grovane, who shared expert perspectives on navigating funding landscapes and building sustainable ventures. The discussion was moderated by Edna Adesokan, who guided engaging conversations among panelists and participants.

Panel discussions featured experienced professionals including Adéyẹmí Davies, founder of Hallowed Home Care; Ogochukwu Eze, founder of Prodigy HR Solutions; and Caroline Ksiazek, Regional Director at Futurpreneur. Each speaker brought practical knowledge on funding strategies, nonprofit sustainability, and entrepreneurial growth, offering attendees actionable takeaways.

Throughout the event, emphasis was placed on demystifying funding processes, building strong business networks, and leveraging available programs to accelerate business success. Attendees also had the opportunity to connect directly with experts and peers, fostering collaborations that could extend beyond the event.

With limited seating and mandatory registration, the event saw strong interest from the local business community, reflecting a growing demand for funding education and entrepreneurial support in the region.

Although the event has concluded, its impact continues to resonate among participants who gained not only knowledge but also meaningful connections to support their business journeys. Initiatives like these highlight the importance of targeted programs in strengthening local economies and empowering underrepresented entrepreneurs.
