President Bola Tinubu has declared hunger and poverty as the most serious threats to Nigeria’s peace, urging governors to prioritize real development over distractions. During his two-day visit to Katsina, Tinubu commended Governor Dikko Radda for transformative projects including the 24-km Eastern Bypass and a new Agricultural Mechanised Centre.
He called on governors to remain focused on impactful governance, stating, “Ignore distractions—your results will speak for you.” He assured that the federal government would support Katsina’s fight against insecurity, and highlighted agriculture as Nigeria’s path to economic stability and peace.
Tinubu revealed plans to revitalize the Bank of Agriculture to support small- and large-scale farmers, while noting that Nigeria must shift from oil reliance to agricultural mechanization. Governor Radda shared achievements including road construction, irrigation support, improved healthcare, and the distribution of 448,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser last year.
The event was attended by governors from Borno, Benue, Kaduna, Kwara, and Jigawa, and federal ministers, as Tinubu praised past Katsina leaders and traditional institutions for supporting unity and development.
