Buccaneers Confraternity Distances Itself from Nigerian Convict in Australia, Reaffirms Commitment to Humanitarian Values

Brothers Across Nigeria (BAN), widely known as the Buccaneers Confraternity, has officially disassociated itself from a Nigerian national recently convicted in Australia, asserting that the individual acted independently and without the organization’s authorization.

In a statement by Dr. Christopher Ndubuisi, Head of the Publicity Committee, BAN clarified that no charges were filed against the confraternity or any of its members, emphasizing the convicted person’s actions were solely his own. The group, with a legacy spanning over 50 years, operates as a registered, apolitical, and non-religious NGO dedicated to community development and youth empowerment globally.

Highlighting its recent projects, including the renovation of a police station and construction of a women’s holding facility in Owerri, BAN reiterated its adherence to a strict internal Code of Conduct. The Legal Committee, chaired by Akpo Ohimor, warned against misinformation and affirmed the confraternity’s readiness to pursue legal action to protect its reputation.
