Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, a top prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, is making a strong impression on NFL scouts at the East-West Shrine Bowl, despite choosing not to play in the game. The former Colorado quarterback, son of Pro Football Hall of Fame member Deion Sanders, is participating in meetings at the Denton, Texas, location, allowing NFL team officials to assess his potential.
Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan, impressed by Sanders’ maturity and poise, spoke highly of the young quarterback, emphasizing his calm demeanor and financial perspective, shaped by his exposure to the spotlight. Callahan shared, “You can tell he’s been raised right. He’s mature, he has a really poised way about him, and he seems like a really good kid. I enjoyed talking to him.”
The Titans, holding the No. 1 pick in the draft, are reportedly considering moving on from quarterback Will Levis. Sanders has also met with the Cleveland Browns (No. 2 pick) and the New York Giants (No. 3 pick), both of whom are looking to add a quarterback to their roster.
Sanders’ 2024 season was impressive, with the 6-foot-2, 215-pound quarterback completing 74 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Callahan praised Sanders’ toughness, noting his ability to stand firm in the pocket and deliver even after taking significant hits. Sanders also showcased his ability to move out of the pocket and create plays, with his anticipation and timing standing out as key strengths.
While another top quarterback, Cam Ward of Miami, is absent from the Shrine Bowl, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Sanders and Ward as the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 draft class.
