Ryan Reynolds celebrated his “Deadpool & Wolverine” co-star and close friend Hugh Jackman during the opening night of Jackman’s musical revue Hugh Jackman: From New York, With Love at Radio City Music Hall. Reynolds, known for his humor, called Jackman his “gotcha for life” and peppered his praise with playful jabs, joking about a staged skit involving security tossing him into the “Radio City Music garbage dump.”
Despite the humor, Reynolds expressed genuine admiration, calling Jackman “the best human being I know… and I have four children!” He later shared glowing praise on Instagram, describing the performance as “an immersive retrospective and jamboree of feeling, giggles, and joy.”
Reynolds attended the event with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy and joked about the lack of a car chase in the show. Jackman’s 24-performance residency includes songs from his iconic works like The Greatest Showman, The Boy From Oz, and Les Misérables.
Jackman also shared his gratitude on Instagram, highlighting the evening’s emotional connection with the audience. “The love, the glitches, the sweat, the tears, the laughter… The love emanating from the audience was enormous,” he wrote.
