Rapper Offset has been released from the hospital after suffering a non-life-threatening injury during a shooting outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
A spokesperson for the artist, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, confirmed Friday that he is recovering well after receiving medical treatment.
“Offset has been released from the hospital and he is up and walking,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “We’re incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and the entire hospital staff who took such great care of him.”
The shooting occurred on April 6 outside the popular South Florida entertainment venue, though authorities have not publicly released extensive details about the incident.
Offset is best known as a member of the Grammy-nominated hip-hop trio Migos and for his successful solo music career. He has been a major figure in the rap industry for more than a decade, known for hits such as “Bad and Boujee,” “Ric Flair Drip,” and numerous collaborations with top artists.
Officials have not yet said whether any suspects have been arrested or what led to the shooting outside the casino.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, located near Fort Lauderdale, is one of South Florida’s largest entertainment complexes and frequently hosts concerts, nightlife events and celebrity appearances.
