Nigeria’s inflation rate has risen to 24.23% in March 2025, marking a 1.05% increase from February’s 23.18%, according to the latest report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) report shows that on a month-on-month basis, inflation in March was 3.90%, an increase of 1.85% compared to February’s 2.04%. This indicates a higher rate of price increases in March compared to February.
Food inflation also saw an uptick, rising to 21.79% on a year-on-year basis, while the month-on-month food inflation rate increased to 2.18%, up from 1.67% in February. The NBS attributed the rise in food prices to higher costs of items such as ginger, garri, broken rice, honey, crabs, potatoes, plantain flour, and fresh pepper.
