Newcastle Edge Seven-Goal Thriller Against Nottingham Forest to Boost Champions League Hopes

Newcastle United produced a stunning first-half blitz, scoring four goals in 11 minutes, to claim a dramatic 4-3 victory over Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park, strengthening their push for Champions League qualification.

Callum Hudson-Odoi put Forest ahead in the sixth minute, but Newcastle responded emphatically. Lewis Miley netted the equalizer in the 23rd minute before Jacob Murphy put the Magpies in front just two minutes later. Alexander Isak then took center stage, scoring twice to bring his Premier League goal tally to 50.

Despite Newcastle’s dominance in the first half, Forest mounted a second-half fightback. Nikola Milenkovic pulled one back in the 63rd minute, and Ryan Yates struck in the 90th to set up a tense finale. However, Eddie Howe’s side held on to move up to fifth in the Premier League, level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City.

Forest, who remain third, have now lost three consecutive away league games for the first time since December 2023.
