LeBron James has made history once again—this time off the court. Mattel Inc. unveiled a new Ken doll modeled after the NBA superstar, making James the first professional male athlete to receive such an honor. The launch kicks off Mattel’s “Kenbassador” series, following last year’s debut of nine female athlete Barbies, including tennis icon Venus Williams.
The $75 doll drops Monday and captures James’ signature style, donning sunglasses, headphones, and a blue-and-white letterman jacket with nods to his Ohio roots and the LeBron James Family Foundation. “We Are Family” is emblazoned on the doll’s tee, and naturally, he sports custom Nikes. In a promo video, LeBron admired the figure, calling it “dope” while humorously noting the doll’s slim build.
James shared that the project is about more than collectibles. “It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models,” he said. Mattel echoes that sentiment, celebrating LeBron’s influence on culture and youth through positivity and purpose.
